Medical Expert & Consultant Group

Mission Statement

Dedication to the case, not to only one medical discipline

Highlighting all issues of a case from a medico-legal perspective.

Small group of experts in Clinical Neurosciences (Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neuroradiology, Neuro-psychology, Neuroanaesthesiology) specialized in diseases of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves (some cases are also accepted from neighbouring disciplines such as ENT-Surgery, Maxillo-Facial Surgery, General Surgery, General Intensive Care and others).

Our dedication is to the case, not to just one medical discipline in the frame of Clinical Neurosciences, because more than one discipline is almost always involved during treatment of one patient (e.g. neuroradiological diagnosis and decisionmaking in a neurosurgical patient). Moreover, as a frequent observation from our medico-legal work, the main focus of a case from a medical perspective is frequently different from where the attorney(s) thought it would be. As a consequence, another expert from another medical discipline my be required - our group will be able to deal with situations of that kind, without counsel being forced to restart the search for an expert.

Our mission is the evidence-based analysis of the causes of personal injury in conjunction with medical treatment, suspected to be due to medical malpractice/ negligence, offered to defense and plaintiff. Case investigations are performed strictly from perspectives of scientific knowledge in medicine and according to widely acknowledged rules of best medical practice.

The group is committed to the development of arguments based on the actual medical evidence on the one hand, and on evidence from medical science and guidelines on the other hand. We are dedicated to scrutinized analysis of medical details and argumentation based on evidence and best medical practice, leading to the identification of a deviation from the standard of medical care (negligent / wrongful treatment) - or of the contrary, i.e. of a fateful event.

The experts of NEUROEXPERT also take great care to assist attorneys in their effort to follow the legal chain of argumentation for negligence (duty, breach, damages, causation)

Members of the group have developed expertise over decades of medical practice in leading positions in academic institutions and as medico-legal experts. The managing expert of the group has acted as a medical expert in well over 500 cases; he has more than 25 years of experience in medicine, active as a scientist, practicing physician and professor of neurosurgery.
